Our Program
We have two programs:
Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu - both run from 9:00-12:00
We are a licensed, play-based program for 3 - 5 year olds.
Program fees are $85/month with $75 covered by the Alberta Government Affordability Grant. Subsidies may cover the remaining $10/month.
School year starts mid-September and goes until mid-May.
Our Board of Directors
The Benalto Playschool Society runs and manages the day-to-day operation of the playschool. It is a parent-run board that relies on the volunteer efforts of our parents. We have meetings every second month and plan a few fundraisers throughout the year that parents agree on. Each year we need parents to fill these positions:

◼ Secretary
◼ Treasurer
These positions require a very minimal time commitment (on average 15-30 minutes per month). We have folders for each position, with all of the information needed to follow the easy tasks needed for the school year (September - May).
Positions are filled at the AGM held at the beginning of the school year. Please email playschoolbenalto@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering for any of these positions.
Our Classroom
Our classroom is filled with age-appropriate activities, games, toys, and books. The day is split between teacher-directed activities that focus on the development of fine and gross motor skills, and child-led activities where they can explore different centers around the classroom. Mixed in with snack time, dancing/singing, playing outside, and reading books - there's never a dull moment in our school day!
